Nolan Whyte has been writing and performing original fiction and creative non-fiction since the invention of writing.

One of the major outlets Nolan has had for his writing has been poetry reading events, especially the Poetry Plus events at The Daeyeon Monk in Busan during the years he spent teaching in South Korea.

The short fiction pieces that Nolan performed during his first year in Busan were collected in a small volume titled Turn To Speak: Korean Poetry Readings September 2001-September 2002, which was released by Seoulo Press in 2003.
